The Maquette for a concept presentation.

The project was about the Zuidas in Amsterdam, where they are creating a city out of nothing.
Berlage was the creator of the city plan of the upper Zuidas, Van Eesteren was responsible for the lower part.

‘Oude keuzes Nieuwe stromen’ is about conceptual public places, connecting two different street ideas, of two different architects.

When you extend the main streets you get intersections. At those places you see optical straight lines, refering back to the original streets.
The sound of a building gets extracted when it’s hit by that line.

Those sounds are very serene and empty. The only characteristics who are present are the sharp heels of shoes.

The idea was to compress and gain the volume of the silence, which leads to noise.
Everytime a sharp sound reaches a limit, the noise will go away, and slowely returns.
In this way, you get very organic noise/sounds, interacting with eachother ( the more buildings, the more sounds).

Creating a sea of a closed world, through a different perspective.
